Message From The Founder
If you’ve been following me, I believe you know that I am dedicated to helping others develop their career and pursue the success they seek. Even back when I first started my recruitment firm, Wang & Li Asia Resources, I’ve always been interested in doing more than just helping people find a better job. This is best captured in the saying, “Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he’ll eat for a lifetime.” While helping others attain better opportunities is great, I’m more into helping people to develop their ability to achieve whatever career goals they may have on their own.
This is the reason I’ve written two career development books on the importance of developing your career sense and soft skills. It’s why I started my career & talent development company, Zhishangwang. And why I continue to be passionate about what I do after so many years.
While I believe many of the articles, videos, and Q&A responses that I post have helped to influence many, I’ve found it difficult to have the more significant impact on others that I’d like to have. The broad range of both users that I speak to and career topics that I cover do not allow me to go deep enough into the issues and challenges that I want to help others address.
As a result, I’ll be shifting my focus to talent and leadership development and to supporting influencers who drive and support these with team members and employees in their company. In particular, these influencers include HR and learning & development professionals, as well as managers and executives who lead others. My efforts will be on helping them get employees and team members to better recognize what’s available to them every day, and improving their ability to develop others in critical areas while delivering solutions that respond to key company and business challenges.
Some of the talent and leadership development topics I’ll be focusing on, include driving mindset and behaviour change when facing new realities, instilling a self-development mindset and approach in others, empowering team members to deliver key solutions and greater value to the company, applying a team leadership approach, developing key soft skills, effective communication for all business situations, and hiring “right fit” talent for your team.
I’ve thought about making this shift for a while and believe it’s the right direction for Zhishangwang and myself at this time. For those who have been so supportive in following me and what I do, I want to assure you that my overall objective to help people address their career development needs and challenges remains. All the content I’ve produced and shared up to now will continue to be available to you. But by focusing on and providing more specialized value and services to this community of influencers, ultimately, I believe I’ll be able to have a greater impact on the career development and success of many more people. I appreciate all your support. As always, I hope that what I continue to do will help you achieve the success you seek, whatever that may be to you.
